How Should Christians Approach New Years Resolutions?

In today's society, we have lots of goals people would like to achieve, lots of habits people would like to do, we should start asking God what can we do in order to get close with Him.

Christians and Christianity may dislike secular new years resolutions, however, I do contradict with what some may think. I personally believe New Years Resolutions are a great thing for Christians to do, Christians can use making goals or "atomic habits" in order to grow in our relationship with Jesus, to grow our churches and to grow in whatever God wills for us.

It's important that when we make goals, we don't do it out of our own will, but for what Christ wants us to do.

We often think of self development as something which can be secular, and yes it can be, however, we can use things which come from self-development philosophies, and grow in Christ with them, because, ultimately in our Christian faith we will have to grow, it's important we don't become spiritually lazy but we truly seek God with ALL our heart.

When you read Romans 8, you can also start to see that we are free. It's important to understand that we should make goals in order to grow, however, we have freedom in the Spirit to go in the way God wants us, we shouldn't feel that we have a heavy burden, but we should understand that we have freedom to grow in the way Christ desires us.
